WAYNE, NJ — When Crissy Pafitis became a mother just more than a year ago, she felt relieved to find a fitness center where she could connect with other moms. She’s now bringing the FIT4MOM brand to Wayne, where the new location will soon open.
FIT4MOM has more than 1,800 locations and 250 franchise owners nationwide, focusing on fitness for every stage of motherhood. The Wayne location (1400 Willowbrook Mall), which Pafitis owns, will celebrate its grand opening from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Jan. 18.
Pafitis has lived in Wayne for more than five years. Originally a New York City native, she and her husband moved to the township for a job opportunity. Pafitis calls the move the best decision they ever made, calling Wayne the perfect place to start and raise a family.
The Wayne franchise owner has been active since an early age. What began with track and gymnastics in grade school became a lifelong passion for fitness and wellness. After she and her husband welcomed a baby into the world, Pafitis sought a way to get moving again and connect with other mothers. She remembers how relieved she became when she discovered FIT4MOM “and how good it felt to be doing something for myself, while also caring for a baby,” she said.
The public is welcome to attend Jan. 18’s free grand opening. The event will feature a giveaway for new members and a free “Stroller Strides” class, which FIT4MOM describes as “a 60-minute total-body workout with strength, cardio, and core training, all while engaging the little ones in a stroller.”
FIT4MOM in Wayne will offer classes from 9:30-10:30 a.m. weekdays. The fitness center will also offer free weekly community playgroups, monthly Moms Nights Out and quarterly community service called Moms with a Mission.
