LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – As members of Anytime Fitness hit the gym on Friday to shed off their extra Thanksgiving weight they were met with a surprising notice.
Overnight, all of the gym’s locations throughout Lincoln permanently closed with no warning to its members.
A sign on the door of each location read in part:
“We sincerely have enjoyed serving you as a member and are saddened to share we have had to make a very hard decision to permanently close the (respective) Anytime Fitness location effective 11/25/2022. You will have until 12/9/2022 to transfer your membership agreement to a neighboring Anytime Fitness. If you choose not to transfer, our billing company, ABC Financial, is scheduled to cancel your existing membership on 12/9/2022.”
Channel 8 spoke to a few gym members who did not want want to go on camera but said they received no prior notice of the closure.
We reached out to the establishment through phone calls and Facebook messages.
The phone number listed for the locations in Lincoln has been disconnected. The company has not responded to our request for comment through Facebook.
We also contacted the company’s world headquarters in Minnesota. All of our phone calls were unable to get through to an operator. Emails were kicked back with a message saying the email address did not exist.
